Game modes and modifiers
Room hosts can select a game mode and edit its rules from Room Settings. Rules cannot be changed while a round is in progress.
Standard
Standard matches use the selected stock count, time limit, stage list, and team-attack setting. Rooms can be configured for 1v1, free-for-all, or teams.
Practice
Practice removes the normal stock limit and enables practice commands for testing damage, speed, hitboxes, and other situations. See Practice and CPUs for the available tools.
Modifier
Modifier mode adds optional rules that substantially change a match:
| Modifier | Effect |
|---|---|
| Critical Hits | Enables critical-hit behavior. |
| Flight | Changes normal movement with a flight effect. |
| Reverse Angles | Reverses attack launch angles. |
| Random Angles | Randomizes attack launch angles. |
| Turbo Mode | Enables faster cancel-based gameplay. |
| Spontaneous Combustion | Enables the spontaneous-combustion rule. |
| Ultra Rage | Enables the enhanced rage rule. |
| Part | Allows Part to appear when Random is selected. |
Some modifiers deliberately create unusual or unbalanced matches. Their exact values may change between updates.
