Gunner

Overview

Gunner was the third character added to RInspired, added on version 0.7.0. They are a zoner character, utilising multiple projectile-like attacks to control space around the stage. Their slow base movement and high endlag on certain moves promotes setting up combos more efficiently.

Playstyle

Their grounded attacks are great at setting up combos; almost all of their grounded attacks, including the dash attack, send upwards, allowing Gunner to knock opponents up in multiple ways.

Their aerial attacks are diverse; Forward-Air shoots large explosions which cover a lot of area in front of them, Back-Air is a strong shot backwards that propels Gunner forwards, allowing them to move around better, while Up-Air, Down-Air and Neutral-Air all serve generally ordinary purposes (sending upwards, hitting all around, sending downwards respectfully).

Their special moves are the key to their moveset. Neutral-Special is a chargeable black hole projectile that travels further and deals more damage and knockback the higher its charged, turning into a devastating kill move. Side-Special launches rockets that either cause small explosions that send up, or bigger explosions that send away by holding the special button. Down-Special is a floating bomb device that explodes upon pressing the move again. It can be moved around with attacks, but has low hp and can be removed easily. Up-Special is the bog standard recovery move.

Gunner's throws are pretty unique; Forward and Back Throw are weak throws that mostly help knock the opponent into their Down-Special. Down and Up Throw are strong kill moves.
