Bruiser

Overview​

Bruiser was the fifth character added to RInspired, added on version 0.14.0. He is a large heavy character who has an emphasis on slow but strong moves. His abilities as a grappler let him combo opponents continuously and use his cargo throw to land hard-hitting moves despite his slower movement options.

Playstyle​

His grounded attacks are great at setting up combos; Up-Tilt, Forward-Tilt and dash attack send upwards, allowing Bruiser to knock opponents up in multiple ways. Down-Tilt and Jab are good get-off-me tools. Like many multi-jab characters, his first Jab can combo into his other tilts as well.

His aerial attacks are diverse; Forward-Air is a slow but strong overhead strike that deals high knockback and spikes near the end of the move, Back-Air is a strong and very quick backwards hit, Up-Air is an amazing combo tool that can combo into itself multiple times, while Down-Air and Neutral-Air all serve generally ordinary purposes (hitting all around and sending downwards).

His special moves are the key to his moveset. Neutral-Special is a chargeable punch that deals high knockback on full charge. Side-Special is his grapple; He can cargo throw his opponents, which helps him in his combo game. Down-Special makes bruiser plummet straight down, bouncing on any opponets he comes across, while also spiking them if hit near the start of the move. Up-Special is the bog standard recovery move, except bruiser can charge it to delay his recovery and make it harder to punish.

Bruiser's throws are the main attraction of the character; Although Forward and Back Throw are somewhat weak, the fact you can use them offstage thatnks to his Side-Special makes them strong kill throws. Down-Throw is great at comboing on the ground, and useless offstage.
